Will Government Offices Return to Their Districts in South Waziristan Upper and 11 Other Districts? Mehmood Jan Babar Speaks Out

Residents of South Waziristan Upper forced to travel to Tank for routine government and judicial matters, says ARDC spokesperson
SOUTH WAZIRISTAN : Area Representative and Development Council (ARDC) spokesperson Mehmood Jan Babar has said efforts will be made to bring government offices, district headquarters and administrative departments back to their respective districts, including South Waziristan Upper.
Speaking in an interview, Mr Babar said most government offices and the local administration of South Waziristan Upper were currently operating from Tank district, forcing residents to travel long distances for routine official work, court-related matters and other administrative services.
He said the arrangement had placed an additional financial burden on residents, who had to spend considerable time and money travelling to Tank for matters that should be dealt with in their own district.
According to Mr Babar, the ARDC was established to work for the restoration of government offices, district headquarters and administrative services in South Waziristan Upper and 11 other districts.
He said the council wanted government departments to operate within their respective districts so that residents could access essential public services without travelling elsewhere.
The spokesperson said the provision of government services at the local level and the resolution of administrative difficulties were among the council's priorities.
Mr Babar said the ARDC would take up the issue of shifting district offices back to South Waziristan Upper with the relevant authorities so that residents could obtain government services within their own district.
